SUMMER 2026 FAMILY CAMP
There is something for everyone at Riverside’s Family Camp. You can expect: delicious meals, a setting where you can really relax and know your kids are safe, worship and growth opportunities for all ages, and a staff that will “knock your socks off!” Join us — you’ll want to come back again!
What you can expect:
Each morning families will gather in the chapel for singing, skits, and sharing of God’s Word. Following chapel time, all the children will be divided according to age groups and will spend the morning with our amazing cabin leaders and experience a time of learning more about Jesus and experience some really fun activities! While the kids are hanging out with our staff, the adults will be hearing from our wonderful guest speakers.
Many activities will be offered during Free Time each afternoon. Families will enjoy swimming and relaxing poolside at our aquatics center, horseback riding, Rec Hall fun—carpetball, foosball, Camp Store, Art Fun, and Family Bonding time! If the water level is appropriate, families may canoe the river from Riverside to Story City. Otherwise, families can always canoe at our lagoon! Evenings will be filled with many great family activities, including campfires and the Mime. Families will also experience Riverside’s FAMOUS parade and barbecue dinner. We hope to see you there!

About Roger & Cathy Twito:
Roger and Cathy Twito have been associated with Riverside Lutheran Bible Camp since the 1990’s when their oldest daughter, Sarah, served on the summer staff. Roger and Cathy live in Jewell, IA just a 20 minute drive from Ames (Go Cyclones!) where Roger serves as the Sr. Pastor at Ascension Lutheran Church (AALC). The Twitos graduated from Valparaiso University with degrees in youth ministry and have been hanging around kids and families ever since. They have six children and seventeen grandchildren, and Cathy serves as the family ambassador visiting the families near and far on a regular basis. Fun fact: it was at a sister Lutheran Bible Camp that Roger asked Cathy to marry him. Additional fun facts: Roger serves as the high school boys’ golf coach at Roland-Story High School, and if you want to talk gardening, finding deals, or Jesus, Cathy is your gal.
