High School Horse Camps:
Basic or Advanced Horsemanship

Basic Horsemanship

This camp is for novice horseback riders. Maybe you came to ranch camp a long time ago, maybe you’ve never been to a ranch camp. Campers in this session will be guided in exciting ranch experiences, while still being involved in most main camp activities. Horsemanship skills taught will include but are not limited to: hands-on ground classes that teach catching, leading, tying, grooming, and saddling. Arena classes will challenge each rider with new opportunities to grow as an equestrian. Trail rides provide an outlet for campers to sharpen their skills while enjoying God’s beautiful creation. We just know that you’ll appreciate exploring the glory of God’s creation while on horseback during this session of horse camp!

Advanced Horsemanship

Riverside’s highest level of horse camp. This session is not for novice riders. We’ll be certain to elevate your ranch experiences as a knowledgeable rider, while still being involved in most main camp activities. Horsemanship skills nurtured will include but are not limited to: all the ranch basics you are likely familiar with plus tacking, choring, and horse care. Daily, campers will be able to sharpen their riding abilities in the arena. We’ll explore God’s beautiful creation throughout our trail system on the camp grounds. Our wranglers will assess the unique skill level of our campers and will work with our group to further advance their equine knowledge and experience. We are thrilled to be able to offer this session to seasoned ranch campers and year-round, experienced horse lovers! ** If you register for Advanced Horsemanship Camp, you will be required to complete an additional form that will allow you to describe your eligibility for this camp.
