October Update

We give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, and his steadfast love endures forever! Fall is here and it's a beautiful time to be here at Riverside! Our trails are ready for horseback riding and hiking, our cabins are ready for retreats, and our staff are ready to welcome many people here this fall for a Christ-centered camp experience. There's room for you!

Our Year Around Staff. We are blessed by an outstanding year around staff here at Riverside! They are a devoted team: devoted to Jesus, devoted to our mission and values, and devoted to providing safe, Christ-centered camp experiences for all people in this season (and every season). If you think of it, take a moment to drop our staff a note in the mail or an email to thank them for the gift they are to this ministry!

Golf Outing Update. What a day we had for our 17th annual golf outing! We welcomed a record number, 126 golfers, to Ames Golf and Country Club for a great day of food, fellowship, great golf, and all to celebrate the continued ministry of Riverside! Over $15,000 was raised for the ministry of Riverside as part of this event, and were so thankful to all of our great sponsors and golfers for their generous giving! Fall Programming. After much prayer and discussion with ministry and medical professionals, we are moving forward with modified fall programming here onsite this fall. While there will be modifications, the focus of our programming being laser focused on Jesus never changes. We believe that Jesus changes lives for the better and that He uses camp experiences at Riverside to bring people closer to Himself. Come and See. If you're like me, fall hikes with a cup of coffee is holy time. So many people over the years have referred to this place as holy ground, a thin place, where God is close. We invite you to come and see, take a walk around the Lord's camp, and connect with the Lord.

Looking ahead. We are in full planning mode for Summer 2021 and the summer schedule is up online. We will keep our calendar updated with upcoming events, but also note that we may add some new retreat opportunities with shorter notice than we usually do. We want to continue to follow the Lord's lead in this season and may offer some different opportunities than we have in the past to welcome smaller groups. Be on the lookout for more information in emails and social media.
