February Update
Hello from Riverside!
Over this past week, our staff have been blessed to hear testimonies of past campers and how the Lord used their time at camp to change the trajectory of their lives for eternity. Praise God! Who were the people sharing these stories with us? Local church leaders and parents. The people who our campers and retreat participants go home to and do life with. When we think about the impact of camp, we do so praying that the work the Lord does in and through His kids at camp enhances the ministry of the local church and communities they're a part of. Camp is never meant to be a place where people stay or used as a substitute for the ministry of the local church, but as an enhancement and partner of the local church. We praise God for the many partnerships we have with so many local churches and are grateful for their trust in us as we partner with them in the future!
A few other updates from camp!
1. Summer Camp 2025 is coming and we're so excited! Our team is doing a great job preparing for summer camp in a variety of ways: summer staff hiring, completing Day Camp curriculum, summer theme breakdowns, tweaks to the week schedules, answering many camper/registration questions, and visiting many of our congregations to share about opportunities. If you haven't registered yet, do so soon!
2. Full-time staff openings. This is an important season for our year-round team as we currently have three open full-time staff positions: Program Coordinator, Development Director (new position that we have not had in the past seven years), and Guest Ministries Coordinator (moving this from a part-time to a full-time position). We have an incredible team that loves to grow together, serve together, have fun together, and who is serious about our mission, "to know Jesus Christ and to make Christ known to all." If you know anyone who may be a great fit for these positions, share it with them! More information can be found here on our website.
3. Master Plan Process Update. This year, we will be rolling out more information on our Master Plan Process for future ministry. We're excited to share it with you! This year will include regional gatherings around Iowa to connect with our churches/church leaders/parents/partners to share how the Lord has led us in this process and the phases in which we see this plan being carried out. If you're interested in hosting a regional gathering at your home or at your church, please reach out to me to talk more and get a date on the calendar. Join us in prayer that we would continue to be in step with the Lord's will, the Lord's way, and His timing in everything that we do.
I am grateful for you and your partnership in the Gospel!
God bless you,
Chris
