Announcing our new Associate Director
"Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His love endures forever." Psalm 136
God is on the move in exciting ways here at Riverside! Our program team is busy visiting local congregations and continuing to hire our 2019 summer staff, our office staff are busy helping campers register for upcoming events and summer camp, and restoration work on the chapel is in full swing! Through all we do here at Riverside, our desire remains consistent-"to know Jesus Christ and to make Christ known to all."
In this time of transition since our wonderful long time Directors retired (Dave and Jan McDermott), our year-around staff has done an outstanding job covering a variety of different roles. In December, we posted a job opening for an Associate Director to step in and take on a variety of leadership roles within Riverside. We saw God's hand in and through this process, and we are excited to welcome our new Associate Director, Cheri Schendell-Hennager. Cheri is no stranger to Riverside. She has been a volunteer nurse at Riverside for several summers and recharges, her kids have been on staff (both kitchen and summer staff), and she absolutely loves Jesus and the impact Riverside has for His Kingdom. Cheri is a devoted disciple of Jesus, she has a relational heart in connecting with all people, she has a wealth of experience in helping us continue to invest and equip our staff for their ministry here, and she has great new perspective for helping Riverside continue to be a place devoted to Jesus and providing excellent experiences for all our guests. Our staff is excited to welcome Cheri to the Riverside year around staff!
Here's a note from Cheri:
"Our family is brimming with excitement and enthusiasm as I have accepted this new position at Riverside! It is bit of a dream come true to have this opportunity to partner with Riverside to further the mission of “knowing Jesus Christ and making Christ known to all”. This organization has been so important and influential in our family, especially in the lives of our three kids. God is all over this awesome transition in my life and I’m so grateful for His direction. I consider it a high honor and privilege to answer this call and I’m looking forward to sharing my passion for Jesus and leading people in this new adventure! See you at camp!!"
God is good, and we're thankful for His continual provision as we follow His lead. Thank you for your support in the Lord's work here!
In Christ's Service,
Chris Dahl
