The Riverside Gala has returned! - February 27, 2010
A group of amazing volunteers invites you to join us for a dazzling night under the stars as Riverside’s dining hall is transformed into a heavenly delight. The doors open at 6:00 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m., followed by an auction and dancing.
This elegant evening is planned to celebrate the blessings God continues to bestow on Riverside. It is our prayer that this fund raising event will help Riverside finish the $500,000 appeal for the maintenance shop and dining hall debt.
An auction is also planned for the evening, and we still need quality auction items. Do you have access to airline tickets, a vacation home that could be used for a week, tickets to the Iowa vs. Iowa State game, Final Four, etc. that you would be willing to donate? Gala invitations will be mailed out in mid-January, please make your reservations early as seating is limited and we will not be able to sell tickets at the door. You don’t want to miss this special evening.
Past Gala's
Riverside hosted Heavenly Night Galas in 2006 and 2007. These were planned and carried out by caring and visionary volunteers who worked many long hard hours to bring these special events to fruition. Both events were sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. God richly blessed the 2007 Heavenly Night Gala with more than 200 guests and very nice weather given the time of year. Guests enjoyed great food, music, dancing fellowship and an entertaining auction.
Both Galas proved to be fruitful fund raisers with donations and the auction raising over $38,000 in 2007 and $73,000 for both galas. Thanks to Riverside’s Thrivent Financial for Lutherans grant, 100% of the money raised was applied to the Come to the Table appeal. Many attendees were introduced to Riverside’s new dining hall for the first time and saw how this building is a tool for growing faith and bringing God’s love to campers of all ages.
